ABOUT THE HOLY SCRIPTURES

We believe the Scriptures to be the verbally-inspired Word of God to us. The Bible is the supreme source of truth and the final authority for faith and life. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture of error.

ABOUT GOD

There is only one, living and true God, who exists eternally in three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). While existing in three persons, each has distinct personal attributes without division in nature, essence, or being.

GOD, THE FATHER

God, the Father, rules with providential care over His universe. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

GOD, THE SON, JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, and as such, is co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit.  He came to be our Savior. This was accomplished by His sinless life and His substitutionary death. His power was further demonstrated in His resurrection from the dead. He ascended to heaven where He is now exalted and serves as our High Priest.

GOD, THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. His presence is also within every believer from the moment of salvation. He always exalts Christ and guides the believer in worship, evangelism, discipleship, and service.

ABOUT HUMAN BEINGS

Mankind was created by the special act of God, in the spiritual image of God, and is the supreme work of His creation. We were created to be like God in character and to enjoy a love relationship with God. By his own free choice, man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. This attitude of selfishness is present in all people. It separates us from God and creates the problems that we have in this world.

ABOUT SALVATION

We believe that salvation is the redemption of the whole man and is offered freely to all those who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In its broadest sense, salvation includes justification, sanctification, and glorification.

ABOUT SATAN

Lucifer was one of God’s chief angels, who fell into transgression. Since that time, he has become the open and declared enemy of God and man. He is called Satan, the Devil, Lucifer, the Deceiver, the Destroyer, and other names that describe his work and character. His failure is assured, and he will be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire.

ABOUT ETERNAL SECURITY OR THE ASSURANCE OF THE BELIEVERS

Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ at the moment we trust in Him, the true believer is secure in that salvation for all eternity. Our salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not through self-effort or good deeds. We are not saved in that manner, and we cannot keep our salvation in that manner.

ABOUT ETERNITY

People are created to exist forever.  Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. We will either exist eternally separated from God by our sin, or with God because of His forgiveness.

ABOUT THE CHRISTIAN LIFE

Every Christian should live in such a manner that would honor the Lord Jesus Christ and not bring reproach upon Him. The Christian should oppose, in the power of the Holy Spirit, every form of evil, whether in the form of greed, selfishness, or lust.

ABOUT THE CHURCH

On rare occasions, the Scripture speaks of the church as all of the born-again believers of the New Testament era, but it is primarily described as a specific group of baptized believers held together by a faith covenant in the Lord Jesus.

ABOUT LAST THINGS

God, in his own time and in his own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. Jesus Christ will first return bodily and visibly for His church and for His millennial reign.
